Participating in the Race for the Cure® with a team increases the fun, the laughter and maybe even the tears you share on Race Day. So reach out to all your family, friends and co-workers to get your team started.

It Starts with a Team Captain

Dress as a Team on Race Day!
Participants are encouraged to wear a team shirt or creative costume on Race Day! Design a t-shirt to show your team spirit! If you have a special t-shirt that your team will wear for the Race, please email all proposed t-shirt designs in a .jpg format to for approval by October 1st. Approved shirts submitted by the deadline will receive access to official Komen logos for use on the shirt. The Teams Committee reserves the right in its sole discretion to choose not to display any designs that include profanity, inappropriate or explicit language, drug or alcoholic use, or any other representations it deems inappropriate or potentially offensive to participants.

Team T-Shirt Contest
Bring one PRE-APPROVED shirt to the Komen office by October 13 (the first 28 approved t-shirts will be entered in the contest). The t-shirts will be displayed at Packet Pick-up and on Race Day. Encourage all of your friends and family to stop by the tent to vote on their favorite t-shirt with donations. These donations will be added to the team’s fundraising goals. An award will be given for the winning team t-shirt that receives the most donations. Email for more information and to register for the contest.

Steps to start or join a Team today:

1. Select the Team Captain: The Captain must register first and create the Team before members can join.
2. Choose a Team name and Team division that best fits your Team.
3. Invite friends, co-workers and family to join you! Email, Facebook or tweet everyone you know and invite them to register so that they can participate with you.
4. Set up your personal team web page. After you register, log in to your Participant Center to add a photo of your team, set a fundraising goal and tell everyone why you Race for the Cure.
