NOLA Goes PINK 2018
Calling all NOLA Chefs!
We are bringing back NOLA Goes PINK (NGP) for 2018; and we want you to join and support Susan G. Komen® New Orleans this October!
NGP is a, month-long, citywide, chef-driven promotion in support of breast cancer research, support and awareness in the United States. Our participating chefs appear throughout the month of October on cooking segments thanks to our Race for the Cure® Media Partner WWLTV and local television affiliates. Last year, we raised over $36,000 which helped fund breast cancer screenings, treatment and education projects in our own backyard!
Participation is simple; your restaurant determines a dish they would like featured to raise funds for Susan G. Komen® New Orleans (SGK) throughout the month of October, and the proceeds from the sale of your NOLA Goes PINK dish directly benefit (SGK). Most donated, 15%, 20%, 25% or more. Start by creating a dish or select one from your existing menu items to feature throughout the month of October.
Our goal is to have 100 fabulous participating chefs and restaurateurs! Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box! Several restaurants and lounges came up with creative ideas to raise funds and awareness. They created specialty cocktails, happy hours, promotional events, etc. and donated a percentage to Komen. Don’t be afraid to GO big, and more importantly Go PINK!
Please click here to fill out and submit the attached form ASAP to be included in the press release, media pitches and to be listed on www.komenneworleans.org. Restaurants join together in support of breast cancer research.
Here’s a great way to help in the fight against breast cancer! Dine at any of the participating restaurants for “NOLA Goes PINK” and a percentage of proceeds from a signature dish or beverage will be donated to the Susan G. Komen® New Orleans Affiliate during the month of October.
The Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group will be leading the charge to ‘Think Pink’, renewing the “NOLA Goes PINK” campaign engaging chefs, restaurants, and the New Orleans dining public in combating breast cancer. ‘NOLA Goes PINK’ will take place throughout October 2018 — Breast Cancer Awareness Month — when dozens of popular regional establishments will donate a percentage of proceeds to the New Orleans Chapter of Susan G. Komen [SGK] to benefit local awareness, screening, and research.
Susan G. Komen® is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Komen was founded by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Suzy’s life. Komen New Orleans is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the Greater New Orleans area. Through events like the Komen New Orleans Race for the Cure® – Saturday, October 20th in City Park, Komen New Orleans has invested over $6.3 million in community breast health programs in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, Washington, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. John the Baptist and St. Charles parishes and has helped contribute to the more than $920 million invested globally in research.
